When it came to the death penalty it only affected my principles in the sense of innocent people being convicted. If someone did not do a crime he is being charged with and is sentenced to the death penalty, then I have a problem with the punishment. But if the person charged is guilty and there is undeniable proof then the death penalty is justified in my eyes. There also has to be a set list of criteria for someone to be even considered for this punishment because it is a very big matter. In terms of skills or knowledge that could make me a more effective ethical being, just reading on the subject and making yourself familiar with it can help you with that.
